SWEAT® Assets, CapEx-Led Innovation

SWEATThe SWEAT® framework to sweating assets for new market propositions is all about making small but smart changes. Instead of dreaming up blue-sky vistas of possible future consumer products, we identify what spectrum of innovation capabilities we have available in your factories and how we can leverage these for great new products, simply by using them slightly differently.

For creating that spectrum, we stimulate your creativity in two very focused ways:

  • Product/Pack based. By showing how certain physical attributes of your products would be expected to evolve in small incremental steps. Often these small changes provide rich new benefits or differentiating features in the market place, whilst being highly feasible. The hints we provide will ignite fresh connections in both your Technical and Commercial teams’ minds.
  • Asset/Capability based. Similarly, we’ll explore how small changes to your capabilities and manufacturing lines’ subsystems can create impactful changes to the end product. Because this type of thinking is so different from the objectives normally put in front of manufacturing design engineers, it provides them new views on things that can be done on existing assets with relatively minimal resources. Also, for non-technical team members, it reveals how manufacturing processes affect features.
